The auction started 2♣-2♦-2♥-3♣. I had a 5332 23-count, but there was no bid for this. Rebidding ♥ showed 6+, 3NT showed 25-27 HCP, a new suit would show 4+ in the suit, and I couldn't pass the artificial bid.

Maybe you should have rebid 2NT? That's what I would do normally if not playing kokish.

I would certainly do that when playing with a human. But I think GIB believes that opening NT, or bidding 2C-2D-2NT, denies a 5-card major.

Good point. I suppose you are curious about what GIB would do. GIB simulates and chooses among 3H and 3N most of the time.
I suppose I could add 5-card major hands into 2N and 2C-2D-2N.

Could I vote to simply eliminate the second negative 3♣ bid? Gib has an impossible time when it doesn't have the second negative, sometimes rebidding 3♦ or 3♥ on 3 card suits because it has long clubs and doesn't know what else to do. At the very least train it to rebid 2NT more often over 2 of a major. Even playing the direct 2♥ second negative, which I generally don't like, would be a big improvement.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
