Good news: a Dainsh player scored first
bad news.... wrong direction...

Good news: Australias next games will be easier.
Bad news: They looked horrible yesterday.

Good news: 4-0
Bad news: we need 6 more wins and the opponents may improve...
Kind Regards

Roland

I wanted to watch the Kiwis in action but it's on the PPV channel. The public channel which usually shows the games is showing a rerun of Denmark vs Netherlands.

lol

0-0 at half time.

NZ looked good very early but Slovaki while not completely dominating look more enterprising on attack.

NZ have given away soft ball a few times when they have had good field position.

Smeltz had one good shot at goal.

I hate the vuvzelas.

50th minute goal to Slovakia

Replays show that Vitek was clearly offside.

I don't particularly feel like either goal was offside, but I might not have seen very many replays.

Slovaki were clearly a better team. NZ found it hard to win 50-50 balls. For the most part Slovakia shut down the NZ attackers. NZ gave away possession too easily too often. Slovakia had NZ beaten for pace and control.

Smeltz missed a good opportunity with a header on the near post after a cross in the last few minutes and then made a similar cross but to the far post which Reid finished in the 2nd of three minutes of extra time. Reid was then booked for his celebration.

I haven't seen a replay of Reid's goal that suggested he was offside.

Vittek seemed in front in a still frame shot when he scored his goal. I am pretty sure there was also another attacker ahead of the NZ defense.

I will wait for a replay of Reid's goal.

Our TV-station here has a 3D-Analysis for offside situations, they could prove that the referee at the side was 2,5 m behind the offside line, from his position he could not see that the player was offside.

Edit: The goal of Vittek!
