Wow, what a match!

Let me make another bold prediction and say that Germany will beat Ghana easily.

they are more likely to meet in the next African Championship Cup than in this World Cup.

so it was offside at Klose's goal

lampard goal: lol

I want to referee the final, I am free that day.

according to the rules of football there is no offside after throw-in, corner or goal-kicks...

lol, apparently you are right, there is no offside from a goal kick, I really didn't know that, my bad.

anyway, I can't understand such an idiotic rule. one can kick the ball staying on one's goal line and there can be offside if all the conditions are met, but if there is a goal kick there is no offside?

I also dislike the rule, offside should apply in all of the conditions, even a corner, if its not hit exactly on the ground line but in the quater-circle and somebody is behind the ball with nobody else behind him.

Can't tell you why they take out those examples in the rule, but normal free kicks not - seems randomly to me

world football, soccer sounds alot like american football

many many watch no one..no one knows the rules......

in any event....some rules are just never called.......see holding in american football...it is a rule that can be called on every every play but is not......

see basketball....travel...it is a rule that could be called every 30 seconds but is not.....i give up......

------

think / compare to bridge.......do we basically ignore rules at the very highest level of play?????

Not before the final. Don't see that happening.

Arend was being funny. Germany has already met Ghana in the groups, so his "prediction" has been fulfilled.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

easy quarterfinal was my thought too....

I have erred so often in this Wc, I am getting used to it.

Paraguaywas not as unlucky as Ghana- but close to it. What a horrible evening for A. Gyan. He could have been the hero of Africa. What an unlucky ending.
Kind Regards

Roland

So far spain hasn't smacked anybody yet. Their play has been absolutely beautiful at times, but only barely good enough to make it through each round.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.
