I'm just reading text commentary. It says they disallowed a goal of yours but it shouldn't have been.

REAL CONTROVERSY! Donovan's free-kick is volleyed into the net by Edu but it is disallowed! Hard to see the foul as there were so many bodies in the area. Replays only indicate three US players being held by Slovenian defenders.

There is no controversy, german TV resolved this situation to xx single moments,
there was no offside for sure.
There were 3 parallel duels>>> man to man, no signs for a foul in x single settings

If anything, there were about 3 US players being held rather tightly around their waists.

Quite right, if there was any foul, it should have been a penalty for USA!

Some US players pointed that at the moment I think. I think the goal should have been left, it would have been the right penalty for the Slovakians who (at least at the moment) were not playing very good, or fair.

I just watched the highlights. Did the ref really give the guy a yellow for getting hit in the face with the ball?

yes. the guy should have known better than let his head get in the way of the ball.

To be fair, there was a huge USA flop that led to this kick so maybe it's just karma.

I haven't seen a good replay but this post claims Bocanegra committed a foul.
These are always fishy situations with many borderline fouls committed either way (and the defending side typically getting away with theirs as referees don't have the guts to give a penalty).
