Scoring: IMP

Pass - 1 - 1 - Pass
Pass - 1NT - ????

1 = 16+

World class opponents and world class partner, your bid ?

One more question. What was 1NT, as opposed to reopening double by the strong hand? Related to whether your lefty could have a trap pass of 1S.

edit: but yes, most likely our side is finished bidding.

Pass. Partner is still there (hopefully not to bid 2H).

Did responder's initial pass say anything about his hand?

Pass. Assuming normalish methods like 5-card majors and strong NT (normalish where I play). I expect a World Class opener to have 18-19 with spade stopper or two.

Well, 1C was 16+ already Mr Peach. So, the questions are valid.

Would prefer to have Phil as pard on this one. Could have color CRASHED the first round with a double, and whether we have a fit could be resolved at the one-level after pass-or-correct advance by CHO.

I see a strong case for bidding the two suiter with 2 , but would choose the obvious pass too.

Most likely I would have shown th 2-suiter a round before,
in our methods, that would be 1NT (spade+?), the adv. -
you would have been done with the hand.

As it is, I would now pass.

Your methods in this hand were:

dbl = majors
1NT = minors
rest natural;

1NT was natural, 18-21hcp with spade stopper.

At MP I'd bid 2, on grounds that LHO may be about to bid 2, in which case we're probably better off bidding the clubs.

At imps I'll just pass. Even more being vulnerable. It just seems a bit too risky, especially when the club queen lead is likely to set up 3 tricks for our side off the bat.
