I can't imagine why anyone would want to not show a mixed raise on this. A more interesting question would have been - what do you bid if you don't have a mixed raise?

Not sure I know how to make a contructive raise of an overcall.

Reverse the red honors and I like 3H mixed. Will try the preempt with this one. Pard is vulnerable, too; he might bid 4 anyway.

Mixed raise. If I didn't have that available I'd go for 3♠ as I can't be that crazy at r/w.

the Term "mixed" raise means something different to me, apparently. I use the term to describe a responding or advancing hand, which has enough trump support for a "lawful" jump raise, but more strength than a preempt and less than a game invite.

I don't believe the stiff king in a suit bid on my left and two stranded queens outside the trump suit qualifies.

That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Hi,

It is certainly not inv., and I wont bid game, it is not clear, that they have
anything, so it is either preemptive or mixed, and I would go with mixed,
since preemptive could be whole lot weaker.

Maybe you and I are the only ones who read that book. Hmm, four trumps. Too strong for a 3S preempt. Too weak for a L.R. Hence, mixed.

Perhaps the people who declared the other hand unanimous, or the collective mind of BBO, have a different idea of what a mixed raise is than those of us who have no collective mind. But, maybe it does illustrate another topic worthy of discussion in advance with partner --since partner's agreement is all that matters.
