Close between 2C and pass, but 2C seems less likely to be a disaster. I don't see the point of 1NT.

the point of 1NT is that it shows 7-10 HCP, while 2C shows zero to maybe 8.

I like the pass too.

Nothing wrong with 1NT, but passing has a very big upside.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Hmm, IMHO the pass is reasonable and 2C is ROFL.

Pass is pretty obvious, nothing else crossed my mind for long.

One more vote for "pass is pretty obvious", especially with them vul and us not. I'd hate to choose among 1NT, 2C, and 3C if you forbade me to pass - they are pretty scary.

Neither pass nor 1 NT nor 2 club deserves a ROFL. The vul. is too tempting, so I pass.

Np Frederick, hope you are still laughing after it makes because your trumps aren't good enough to draw his.

When I first looked I thought I was vul. I am going to try 3C this hand looks great for C and it does not rule out 3N, nor partner bidding again. Passing and try for the big 200-500 is tempting if partner has a trump to lead. This sort of hand could produce slam. I think bidding can be more advantageous than the pass.

IMO _P = 10, 1N = 9, 2 = 8, 3 = 5.
Misread the problem so edited answer ... 2 is an underbid but, in view of your shortage, is unlikely to be passed out. Over 2, if partner has a strong hand with and bids them, then a NT bid, expresses this hand quite well.

1 hand won't prove much, but I would be very surprized if declarer makes. That would mean 7 tricks, which is a lot.

I'm more worried about opps finding a good fit or us missing a slam.

This hand is actually from a free GIB duplicate tournament. GIB bid 3.

GIB and MACPHEE obviously have not seen the random T/O doubles advocated herein. 3C is much too dangerous, with that in mind.
