Scoring: IMP

(2) - 2N - (no) - 3
(no) - 5

3 showed minors. 3 Puppet the other option would have worked. 4 not great but it's the only making game.

seems obvious to bid 3 if indeed it's puppet. I don't want to be pessimistic about 3NT if partner doesn't have 5 hearts. we will usually have a double stop by courtesy of my helpful jack. If 3 wasn't puppet I'd bid 3NT.

I think 2NT was not adequate. 3 is ugly but might be better. What about 3NT over 3? Minor's showing partner doesn't have quite the 5-lvl hand, does he?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

No blame.

I don't know if 3 is better than 2NT with North but neither is particularly attractive and I think 2NT is ok.

Hands with (13)(45) shape are a problem when responding to 2NT, but I agree with the decision to use minor suit Stayman (assuming that's what 3 is) and risk losing a 5-3 heart fit.
