I had a hand once like 13 with 6 clubs and 2 aces and an xx suit at a regional. It went 1N(14-16) p 2C p 2D p 6N p p X and everyone started picking up their bidding cards. I ran to 7C (given that I had 2 aces, no chance we were off 2 aces, so we must be off an AK, and we can probably make 7C if they don't find the lead). RHO did not get his lead right and it made.

At the other table it just went 1N p 6N p p X so now my hand couldn't run and have partner play it.

Doubling with an AK in these situations is very bad.

Have you ever seen responder run on these auctions?

I don't see why they wouldn't if they had a 5 or 6 card minor and they knew it was an AK they were off and not 2 aces (and presumably they know it's not 2 aces since they bid 6N). There is so much upside to running with xx AQx AQx AJTxx since given that you're off the AK of spades you have all the points, so if partner has a 5 card red suit or 4-4 in the reds you will make 7C on a non spade lead. A 6 card minor might have tried to play 6m, but a lot of people will just bid 6N.

Also with some good agreements you can make yourself at least 66% to get the lead right if they run (for instance, Xing where they run asks for the higher ranking suit to be led, passing asks for one of the lower two ranking suits) fwiw.

I meant on the actual auction, where he is probably not distributional (although could be hiding a minor) and is much weaker than in your story.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Scoring: IMP

This was a hand from our last "Bundesliga"-weekend. Some played it in 6 NT from East. Some did not double with the north hand because they were afraid of 7 Diamond or the like. NO success
Kind Regards

Roland
