Don't pass! 2S describes your hand perfectly, you even have extras for it (I would bid 2S if my HJ was an x).

Closer to 3 than pass.

Heck, even closer to 4 than pass.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

As much as I like splinters, it is closer to 4 than pass.

disagree. I think 4 is even worse than pass. Agree that its closer to 3 than to pass though.

2S.

And I am not gambling.

Please keep in mind, that p should not rebid his 5 card spade suit,
and if he is weak, he should not introduce his 4 card spade suit, if he
also has 3 card support for hearts, i.e. at best we have a 7 card heart
fit, and we have at least a 7 card spade fit, and 2S keeps the bidding
open, i.e. 2S wont be a worse than 2H most of the time (5-2 fits are
more robust against 4-2 trump breaks, but your add. strength should
be more than enough compensation) and you may still be able to reach
game.

With kind regards
