Can anyone suggest a good bridge tournament that takes place at the end of December, anywhere in the world?

I already know about London, New York, Reno, and whatever else is on the ACBL web page.

End of the year congress at Blackpool, I believe.
SCBA National TD, EBU Club TD

Unless explicitly stated, none of my views here can be taken to represent SCBA or any other organizations.

Singapore has a fun game every Xmas :(

Copenhagen area December 27, 28 and 30 (the 29th a day off for sightseeing). Around 60 boards per day. Send me an e-mail if you want details.

As far as bridge goes, the NY tournament is small and not in a nice area. But it's a really fun time to be in NYC, my fav city in the world. So if you are looking for good non bridge stuff as well as bridge I recommend NYC of all the tournaments.

If you're looking for a nicer venue and a bigger tournament I recommend Myrtle Beach for sure. The average player might be worse than at a NY tournament, but there will be more superstar players like Meckstroth/Rodwell, and it will be a much bigger tournament than NY.

I've heard Reno is nice but I'm just not a fan of Reno in general. Maybe if you like gambling also it's a good option.

Don't know about non US tournaments then.

Think about Reno. The room rates at the Grand Sierra are great that week, you can probably do better than the bridge rate if you check on the internet. Also, the hotel has been undergoing renovations for a couple of years and you will get a preview for the NABC in March.

And we are really looking forward to seeing all of you in March!!

Got my LM in Reno many many moons ago. Sort of a redneck Vegas.

There is going to be one in Reykjavik but maybe it's too small for your liking. I don't have much information about it though.

Assuming that you mean this one, it's not too small for my liking, the standard is pretty good, the people are friendly, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a bridge tournament at the end of January and likes a bit of snow. However, I'm actually looking for one closer to Christmas.

No there is one between 27 and 30 December. It doesn't appear on bridge.is but Svenni told me it was going to be held. I don't think it's even comparable in size to the one in January but that may be just my pessimism

Kansas City Holiday Regional. Quite a bit cheaper than NYC I would imagine!
