(Opps are experts)

Partner starts the auction (IMPS, we are NV, opps are V):
1-(5)-pass-(pass)
Dbl - (pass) - ???

What do you do with the following hand?
Scoring: IMP

Is this a clear decision in your opinion?

It seems clear to me. It is a harder decision if we are V and opps are NV, but I would still pass, but favorable makes this seem quite clear IMHO.

Opponents also know they're at unfavourable, don't be surprised to find an awful lot of clubs in the hand, likely 9 or more or some big cards as well if only 8. I don't expect them to go more than one down, the question is are we making anything at the 5 level ?

I'd like to bid 5 if I bid, just in case partner has a club loser or 2 but the opening leader has no clubs and also because I know about the J10. I think there is every chance though that we're not making a contract at the 5 level at all because the majors will break very badly, so I think I'll pass.

pretty clear. Assuming opps are aware that there heads are on the chopping block I don't expect to make any 5 level contract nor do I expect to earn a BIG plus but I do expect a plus by passing.
