Welcome to the BridgeBase Forums!  Before beginning to use our service, we ask that you read over our Terms of Service.  To most people this should not be of tremendous concern but it is worth reviewing.  By establishing an account with the BridgeBase Forums (BBF) you agree that:

1.  You will not engage in conduct or post any material that is defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law.  Doing any of these is a good way to find yourself barred from the forums.  The board should never go above PG-rated for any reason.

2.  You will not post copyrighted material in violation of someone else's copyrights or fair use laws.  This includes published works and online software/websites beyond reasonable excerpts (fair usage).  If you have permission from a copyright holder to post their work, please provide verifiable evidence of this with the material.

3.  Bridge Base Inc. is not responsible for the content of posts made to the forums; said responsibility lies on the shoulders of the individual poster.  You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bridge Base Inc. and the administration/moderation staff in the event of a complaint or legal action resulting from a poster other than an authorized representative of Bridge Base, Inc.

4.  You will not register multiple usernames for a single user.  Should we find this to be going on we reseve the right to delete and ban any and all usernames of said users.

5.  We have the right to log usage of our service by means of IP address and to use this information to enforce the security and rules of the BBF.  This data does not leave the hands of the administration and moderation staff.

6.  BBF is under no obligation to take any action against users or posts.  While it is our intention to keep the forums well policed we do not babysit the boards every minute of every day.

Now that we've covered the icky-nasty stuff, here's some general guidelines to keep the boards friendly and useful:

1.  Keep posts on-topic and in the correct boards.  We will move/delete threads that are in an improper place.  This makes it easier for people to find the information they want.

2.  If you should come across inappropriate content for whatever reason please send a message to one of the administrators.  We will take care of it as soon as we can.

3.  Please respect the purposes of the beginner-intermediate and advanced-expert forums.  Simple questions should be kept out of the advanced discussion area whereas overwhelming newbies with bridge information is generally poor form.

4.  The official language of the boards is English.  However a signficant amount of our userbase does not speak our native tongue so please be careful about this.  As language groups become prevalent on the boards we will establish language-based forums for those users.  If you would be interested in seeing or moderating a forum for a particular language please let an administrator know.

Thanks for reading all of this and enjoy the BridgeBase Forums!

7. Post with multiple hands to highlight an "unknown cheater" just to demonstrate that the hands are evidence that someone (unnamed) is not to be allowed.

8. Post with annoying content in any form that might cause problems with display of browsers in computers or mobile devices are prohibited. The currently known example is a long stream of font symbols, but it would apply to things like smiley faces, etc as well.
