Has GIB been updated? It's being especially absurd today, even for it.

It has not been updated in a cpl months. It rates to be updated sometime this week. We expect to have knocked off several absurdities while avoiding the introduction of fresh ones

I'll post again when we update it.

Yeah I had this little zinger yesterday that cost me big in a MB tourney:

Scoring: Total Points

3 minutes to go and the pace is very fast. I'm sitting 3rd with about 5,600 about 1,000 behind 1st.

2 - 2
2 - 3
4N - 5
6 - 7???

I might have the hands a little off, but this was my recollection.

So I wanted to gamble a little in 6. My experience is if I bid 6 over 3, GIB bids 7 on air 90% of the time, thus the dubious RKC.

What is thoroughly annoying about this hand is that GIB chewed up a lot of time grinding out saving 100 to avoid the 5th under.

That's just you not knowing gib. If you bid keycard for a suit, as it takes 4NT for diamonds here, he will always correct back to that strain. Period.

Your 4NT bid was probably RKC for diamonds, Phil. (oh just saw Josh said the same).

So any suggestions about how to get to 6 without suggesting 7?

Well, 3 over 3 would be a good start.

Maybe you must rebid 3 instead of 2 to set trumps.

BTW I don't know at what point your auction became GF, but maybe you could have bid 3 after GIB's 3, and then GIB might have bid 4 as a help-suit slam try, or more likely just 4NT, after which you can try with 4 to see if GIB can cue something.

Bid 5 over 3. Trust me if he passes you don't have slam. He usually raises anyway but never to 7 so you avoid that possibility.

Another possibility is 3 over 2, or 3 over 3, any of those should be ok. But the one thing that is clear is if you want to play in hearts (or even notrump) you can't bid keycard for diamonds.
