Mike Lawrence will be hosting a workshop and supervised play at my local club later this year and Im thinking of signing up.

I'm wondering if there is any other player in the Vancouver area interested in attending, and has anyone been to any of Mikes workshops?

I've never been myself, but Mike did a UK tour about four years ago and everyone (in Scotland) still speaks very highly about it.

Mike has also been very helpful to them subsequently, despite their stalker-like behaviour :)

Have never been to one of Mike's workshops. I've read his stuff and practiced two over one bidding with him and a friend. I enjoyed it and thought it was a very good use of time.

I have most of his books and ordered some of them by phone so I have talked to him. He sounds like a most competent and friendly bridge teacher, so if possible don't let it go!

I've watched him do one of his seminars, and I thought it was excellent.

I don't agree with everything he says (I would say some of it is becoming a bit outdated) but there is no doubt he is a great teacher and explainer, and writer too.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

If his in-person workshops are even half as good as his books, I can't imagine any student not getting some benefit from them.
