RHO opens 1D. You overcall 2C . LHO passes. Pard bids 2S showing a good 6 card suit, forward going but NF. Opener passes.
(1D) 2C (P) 2S
(P) ?
Now what?

Usually 2♠ only shows 5 and in that case I would only bid 3.

As usual I didn't read the whole OP. Yes if 2S shows a good 6 card suit obviously bid 4S. I question that agreement but it's good on this hand I guess!

BTW: Do you play 2♦ here as 3 card major stayman?

At MP, it makes sense to ask partner, playing IMPs I would
just shoot it out.
With kind regards

That's how I learned to play NF new suit advances at the two level (per Mike Lawrence). He says "decent or better six card suit" so maybe good is an overstatement. Perhaps this isn't standard. Would appreciate feedback.

Given the constraints you have imposed, I would bid 4S; as others have pointed out, the 6-3 fit is powerful. You are actually very close to a 4C bid, if your partner would understand it that way - support+excellent 6 carder in C.

I play 2-level new suit advances as not forcing.
After pard overcalls 2C, I can't show a 5-card suit directly. If I have a really good 5-card suit (say, 4 of top 5), I suppose can bid 2S. But this is rare.
If I have a good hand, I can cue bid 2D (usually club support and LR+ values for me) and then bid 3S (forcing).

If a good 6 card suit is not defined as holding 2 of the top 3 honours, I would settle for bidding 3♠ depending upon what other methods you have of advancing?
