Scoring: IMP

(Pass)-1-(1)-DBL
(1)-2-(Pass)-3
(Pass)-3-(Pass)-???

I didn't play this with my regular partner, but what is 2 and 3 here (Suppose you play with an experts, but haven't agreed anything special)?
And what do you bid now?

Partner has spades.

With no agreements, even Osama Bin Laden would choose to let one of his cuebids be in hearts.

Even so with a partner you don't play with much, 2S should always be natural given we have shown spades with our X. So partner should not give us a headache and should use 2H as a cuebid if he needed one. So I would just bid 4S over 2S.

Dbl is support I'd say. Could also be looking for penalty though.

DBL is 3 card; 2S is 4 card?

Partner promised spades. I'm willing to bet he doesn't have them.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I can't see any point in using double to show three-card support for a suit that's known to be exactly four cards long. I'd use double as takeout, showing something like a 2245 or 1345 shape. The default meaning is probably strong balanced, looking for a penalty.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Partner had Spades and tried to show it twice.
But I thought he asked a stop in Spades (and had a Heart stop). 3NT was down while 4S would have made.
