I think 1 is sick, not so much that I mind holding only an 8 count but I see no gain since this hand can never be adequately described. You would just be giving the opponents the gift of no-preemption.

The reason I would consider 1 is not so much that I can describe my hand better this way but that at these colours we bid 4 on a lot less than this hand.
