A functional analysis of the duplicate bridge group by Jack Stephens. I just read some quotes and found it interesting.

What do you mean, "functional"? As in, functional analysis?

It sounds like the title of a master's thesis or a doctoral dissertation.

Functional Analysis has two different definitions. One is a branch of mathematics and another is a type of study of business structures and operations. I suspect that the latter would apply here. I leave it to anyone interested to look into this further.

"duplicate bridge group" sounds intriguing. I don't think a mathematician would use that term for a group (in the mathematical sense). But I cannot think of any other meaning.

I can't find it with Google.
