For those of you who play this convention...

1-(1NT)-2*-(2)
p-p-2

2 was both majors (usually 5 hearts+Hx in spades)
What should 2 be? 3-5? 2-6? just a purer 2-5?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

I don't know if anyone plays it, but there exist a convention (can't recall the exact name) whereby responder bids over the 1NT overcall as if partner had opened 1NT. Therefore, 2C would be Stayman, 2D transfer to hearts, etc. This is even more helpful when partner has opened 1 of a minor.

A long time ago there was a thread on this type of situation with a number of different ideas regarding how to bid when the opps overcall 1NT.

It's not 3-5 as you bid 2 with that when partner passes.

I think it should be 2-6. 2-5s should generally be passing.

It stillshows two spades, that is clear.
I think it promises 6 hearts - besides the times when you overrule this and have just 5.

Definitely 2-6. I can't think of a 2-5 hand on which I would do that.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Agree. And, I do play that. We call it "Lair," and that might be the "right" name for it.

And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

You already told at least 5-2, so now you need 6-2 (with 5-3 or 6-3 you'd support)
