Since south is declarer I guess it is south who introduced hearts on the bidding :( , I wonder how.

I would take the simple line of A+ruff + AK+. ruffing low.

but since it is a problem maybe it is one of those hand that you would make if you didn't have K.

Deleted - sorry, I didn't see the bid about East's opening.

... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Maybe it began 1-1;1 ?

Nice problem for correspondence bridge(drawing parallels with chess)

Suppose you play A- ruff- AK-
if west discards best play seems to be discard
I guess East will win and return ;west will ruff small and you overruff

You can't stop west from getting 2 tricks... down one
Now you probably realize that you could make this if you had ruffed with 9
Play 8 and after east puts small play 7 and start crossruff

Actually i doun't think that this is the best % line, but as you know ...2nd best line is usally ok...

Well - you can play RHO for Ajx of hearts.

If true, then play a heart off board (rho plays low) and finesse 10 of hearts. Then play 9 of clubs - not ruffing. Assuming RHO wins this - there is no recourse (again - assuming Ajx of hearts). A spade ruff can be taken in dummy and a low heart played. A second club you can win and then pull trumps (no threat of club ruff if RHO has AJx).
