2-p-2-X
2-X

multi, p/c, t/o of hearts, natural, double.

What's this double?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I want to defend, something like Kx or Qxx at least. Pd should pass with his "promised" 4 spades and bid something else with less or really bad spades.
Kind Regards

Roland

It's a lot like the auction 1-X-1-X. Basically cooperative penalty, wanting to defend under the assumption that the original double contains spade length (as it normally will).

What do you bid with both minors and some values?

What's 3m and what is 2NT?

I have that dbl defined as take-out with a weaker hand than 12 or so hcp.

2NT should be minors cause if you have a natural 2NT then you'd just defend.

3m should be to play.

partner has made (ostensibly) a take-out double of hearts, and they have bid spades.

Double = penalty-orientated (assuming some spade length from partner)
2NT = lebsonsohl
3m = natural, constructive

So Frances you differentiate between two different ranges or non forcing hands with a minor?

i.e.

AJxxxx and out vs. AJxxxx and an outside KJ or so?

with a stronger hand you'd bid 3 now, 3 being natural?

Kevin your suggestion 2NT=minors sounds sensible but not sure if it's a better agreement than Lebensohl and I wonder if a non negligible amount of people actually have that agreement.

I realized that x should be penalty-ish but then I realized that maybe responsive would make a little more sense because opener would never psyche this 2 bid. The extent of agreements needed for these multi auctions generally scares me.

Not sure if I would like to play lebensohl here. P has shown length in opps' suit. So with less than constructive value I think I am happy to pass most of the time.

I was mistaken. I play it as Frances does, lebensohl.
