If partner has a black ace in addition to his diamonds (which should be at least JTxxx) you are cold for slam. But you want to stay below 5.

Would you bid something other than 3 preemptive holding:

You should at least have picked a good example! If partner shows one keycard how do you know if it's the diamond king or a black ace?

Part of the reason why Larry and I use Turbo and denial cuebidding, is to prevent any Exclusion and Kickback accidents.

I play exclusion above game level and jumps only. I think they come up relatively often.
