What system forced me to bid 2C rather than 1N?
The easiest way to count losers is to line up the people who talk about loser count, and count them. -Kieran Dyke

Kaplan-Sheinwold:

1NT opening is 12-14
1NT response to 1m is 5-8 (to play opposite a strong NT)

So, if you also play K-S style sound minor openings, I think a game try is mandatory (hopefully I can bid 2N, natural).
Opposite my partners' typical openings, I am happy to play 2, however.
