Is this a joke? Depending on agreements, I bid 2S (first choice) or 1S (second choice.)

I have to agree, JB, as I did not pay attention to the adverse vulnerability; however, I stand by my question of whether or not this is a joke if the question is bid or not bid.

(In fact, JB, I have strong feelings that intermediate jump overcalls are of higher value at adverse vul. - after all, at adverse, you are more likely to get preempted so it is more valuable to have better definition to the bid you do make.)

2S if feeling aggressive, 1S feeling cautious. Never pass.

It was not terrible in any way - purely unlucky, although as Jilly pointed out (rightly so) you way wish to be a tad more cautious vul. versus NV.

Do NOT bid 2S with hands like these imo. Opening 2 and overcalling 2 is much different.

Obvious 1 overcall at any vulnerability IMO.

Too much defence for 2. And also too good for 2.
Kind regards,

1.

2, IMO, is best as intermediate when RvW.

1X also could have been passed out. Nice pass, Opener.

I think he meant the hand has too much defense relative to offense. Look at the minors...

Only if he is a total idiot. A 1S call is obvious on this hand.
