Scoring: IMP

p-p-1H-1S;
2H-4S-end

As a side note, what would your plan be when LHO leads trumps? RHO shows out on the first spade, showing diamond values. What do you do?

edit: sorry I got the seats and amount of passes wrong the first two times.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I am guessing that East opened 1, and South overcalled his 4 card spade suit.

Both actions look good to me, I would overcall 1 as South, and bid 4 as North, go one down, and move onto the next board.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

If I read this right south overcalled 1S and north bid 4S? I would give no blame since I would bid the same way. For the play I would just duck a diamond, and then plan to cross ruff for down 1.

Well one might discus if there is a need to jump to 4 if West only bids 2 and partner overcalled. I'm not sure that I expect opps to bid game.
If 4-card overcalls were agreed, 3 would have been enough.

Same here.

EW look darn close to making 4 to me. I wouldn't get too agitated about this one.

Same bidding from me. From where N sits, he can't tell that 4 is often hard to make due to the trump suit and he must suspect that 4 often makes and that 4 may make.

What's the problem? Sometimes game goes down and the others can't make.
