Wait, wrong thread.
I would not open 3♣, but I don't feel strongly between 1♣ (Good 6 card suit, good shape, 10HCP) and Pass (No defense at all). I admit I would likely open 1♣ at the table.

We are all connected to each other biologically, to the Earth chemically, and to the rest of the universe atomically.
We're in the universe, and the universe is in us.

Really hate 1C. This hand can bid later safely and bidding now will cause partner to misjudge a subsequent competitive auction. Bidding 1C is anti-preemptive -- it makes it easier for LHO to find a call. Opening 1C will make it hard to know if partner has 4 or 5 H, which affects the strain I want to play.

I have a trick source? I can rebid 3♣ over 2NT, jamming them out of a 10-card spade fit?

1C or pass are both possible.

1♣ would, though - and I might pull that at the table.
But pass has got to be best for now.
