How do you go about bidding this hand if 3♦ here (edited) actually shows diamonds?

To support spades I have to jump all the way to 3D? Grrrreat.
Can't really answer the question without knowing what all these other bids mean.

Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

No I mean that 3♦ shows real diamonds. Like a solid 6-bagger or something like that.
Everything at this point is basically natural.

If you play natural, then the next call is 2♠, which sets spades as trump and starts a cue bid sequence. Cue bids are whatever you agree as cue bids, but if you're playing 70s style Precision then you're going to go cheapest ace....

Well the point of this post, I guess, is asking how other people might bid this if they had any sensible gadgets (read: non-relay).
Do most people play 3♦ as showing real diamonds, or would you play this as a splinter? etc.
Maybe I've got this all wrong and I should just be trying to find out what partner has on this one. That's probably true.

I'm not that familar with natural style Precision, but what about rebidding 2♣? Obviously you want to play in spades, but this should improve partner's evaluation of his high cards and leaves plenty of room for both players to show their distribution.

The only precision version I've played was based on Rigal's book precision in the 90s.
The methods he recommended after 1c-1M positive were :-
4M = min balanced no slam interest
3M = balanced slam try with good trump support
Double jump shift = min splinter
2M = trump ask after which the asker could show a max with splinter
Alternatively as an option instead of double jump shift as splinter he suggested you could use
3M as 19+ with 4 trumps and a splinter/void
3M+1 as min with undisclosed splinter
higher than 3M+1 as min with void

2♠ shows fit right?

2♠. Either natural with normal followups, or natural setting trumps and asking about the spade suit (012123 style).
