terrible bid or terrible result

Pd bids 1d, opp overcalls 1s to me. I chose 2d, and it was terrible. Was the bid terrible? Or unlucky?

I like 1N. It shows a balanced hand with a stopper and about 8-11. I don't think 2D is terrible I just think 1N is pretty much perfect and 2D may cause partner to overcompete in diamonds since I have a missing trump, so I don't see much reason for the distortion. If they overcalled one HEART then I have a lot of sympathy for 2D.

I would not describe 2♦ as terrible, but it looks like a normal 1NT to me.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.
