Not sure if I'd go for ruffs or a forcing defence (♥K lead).

I think this is close, perhaps pass is better.
Pass will get a range of scores from +800 (or more) to -670 (or more)

I have had bitter experience in trying for penalties with this sort of hand.

Here 4H isn't even unlikely. Besides may get higher bonanza vs foolish competing.

If you forced me to defend, I would probably belt out the ♥K to take a look and decide from there. It seems very probable that trying for club ruffs is the best defense, depending on how weak dummy is.

For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Even 200 puts the fear of crackling in opponents hearts. That's appealing!
Hope partner has S10+, as this X is against S-KQJ109 and need S8 to score.
Adverse (double?) game swing seems too far afield; unlikely but loses match now.
Convert appeals, but it's 'all-in' on this one hand. I don't, but would be taken aback if opponents did and won 200/500.

Don't worry about it one hand proves nothing.
It gets worse than this 18 months or so ago my opponent with my cards sat for a double of 2♥ with ♥ Q632. The 2♥ bidder was not vulnerable and she was vulnerable. At the other table with those cards I explored for a fit and eventually ended in 3NT. 2♥ was down two and I had no play for 3NT with our combined 25 or 26 hcp. This was in a knockout match that we lost at the end of this set by 1 IMP.

3H.
The main issue is not that you only
have Axxxx, but that you have fit for
partner, i.e. you may beat 2S, but
you may have slam your way.
With kind regards
