Scoring: IMP

1C-1D
3H-4H

1D of partner is transfer to H (transfer Walsh). You bid an agressive 3H (showing 15-17 without a singleton) and partner raises to 4.
LHO starts with A ans switches to 8.
Do you play A, Q or T and how do you continue?
Thanks,
Koen
PS: Lots of posts from me today. Mostly I only post hands where we reached a bad score hoping if I can learn anything from it. ...so you can imagine that we lost 4-25 :(

Since you say you want to learn,
1= Your bidding methods are too aggressive. A jump raise by Opener should have more playing strength than a strong NT.

2= Then you lied to partner by jump raising to 3H with a hand that is not even good enough by your (overly optimistic) agreements.

...and overbidding looks like it is about to get the punishment it deserves.

Given the D8 lead by LHO, you rate to take 4 's + ~2.25 's + 1 = ~7.25 tricks (IOW be ~ -2.75) if you just pull trump etc.

Since you rate to lose 2 trumps and have already lost a , look at your spots and give serious consideration to what happens if you play the DQ on T2.

Best chance looks like Q of diamond - assuming that holds, low heart to the 10.

Q of diamonds holds.
Is it best now to play low heart to the 10?
LHO had J singleton and NPC told me it is better to cross in and play a small to the Q. (I already missed the start by playing T iso Q. Q is better as you should play 's for no looser).
