I still hate 5. Doesn't your pard have an automatic 5 bid on his own anyway?

I'd normally pass as opener here. The alternative for me would be 3, not 2.

Over 5 I'd pass. The alternative would be double, not 5.

Guys, if you open an atypical 2, it's ok to make atypical bids (like 5) later :)

As long as they work well, that is.. lol.

Agree with this, X as an "I want to bid 5S" bid is becoming more popular because you really hare bidding 5S in front of partner.
