You hold

AKJx
KTx
Tx
T9xx

favorable imp's

RHO opens 2, 5/5 or better with a minor (6-10 or so) and it goes

2-p-p-3
p-?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

3N seems spot on. What is the alternative? Pass?

Maybe its a bit on the minimum side, but this must be a totally clear 3NT. And yes the alternative is pass, but it's not much of an alternative if you ask me.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

3N, WTP? I probably need to smoke more weed to notice one here; no guarantees though.

Didn't notice the problem either.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Well, the spade stopper is a tad light, but, Hell! It's IMP's.

Or, DUH!!!
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

You're right. I'd prefer AKQ.

You mis-spelled club. Though I'd still bid 3N. B)

I was the 2nd voter in this poll and the first for 3NT. I'm in the wtp camp too.
Kind regards,
Harald

I voted 3NT.

I'm not confident opposing AKQJx in clubs.

'wtp' - bit offensive.

Our spades are very good. Why shouldn't his clubs be very good. Our expert bidding is not very subtle it seems.

Um. Let's talk.

If you spend hours fretting about a stopper situation in a suit with 109xx, not bid by the opponents, in a preempted auction, with no way to ask about that suit anyway, then you are a bit on the pessimistic side.

Make the clubs stiff 10, and there might be a problem.

Um.

Let's not talk. I did bid 3NT.

I'm a horrible human being.

I balanced on x Qxxx KJ98xx Ax and disliked my pard's 3NT bid. I believe this to be the most horrible resulting thread ever on these forums. One of those "not" votes (no doubt the one described by Harald), I have to confess, is mine.

Now for the fun part:

2!-p-p-3
p-3NT-p-p
4*-X-4-p
p-X-end

*= T9xxx AJx void QJxxx

+800.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I assume the 'fun part' is a totally different hand, as otherwise there are two of each of the SJ, the C10 and the C9

I'd disagree that the opponents haven't bid clubs.

Oops -- missed that.

I'd still bid 3NT, though. I have a difficult time asking if partner or my LHO have a stiff honor.
