I am looking for information on Precision as played by Antony Ker and Alan Grant as
described in the following PDF file (BB Ecats notes & CC)
http://www.ecatsbridge.com/documents/files...d/ker-grant.pdf
In particular definitions of
SPINE
LEMMING
and more information on
1 Diamond opener showing a tri-suited hand 11-15 HCP
Google does not have any references except the results at various clubs in New Zealand
Thanks for any info
Bill

"Lemming" looks like a version of Truscott's "anti-lemming bids". 1N - 3 major was a specialized bid to try to discover if the partnership had a glaring weakness for 3N, like xx opposite xx in a major.

Hi
I will email Alan Grant and ask him. You might find him on BBO playing. He is there fairly regularly. His BBO name is alanz. Anthony Ker's BBO name is ant.
I do not know anything about SPINE or LEMMING.
Their 1♦ opening is always three-suited - 4-4-4-1, 5-4-4-0 or 5-4-3-1 no five-card major. Over which they play relays with game-going hands.

dunno how to play 4 card majors - JLOGIC
True but I know Standard American and what better reason could I have for playing Precision? - Hideous Hog

Hi
The relays for the tri-suiter are in the notes with the system card.
I got the following extra information about SPINE and LEMMING from Alan Grant:
SPINE is a sort of modified Bergen raise. It is a mneumonic for
Splinter
Power - GF
Invite - Limit Raise
Neutral or Normal - Simple Raise
Extra or Extremely Weak
The idea for these steps came from Scott Smith who plays something similar but different with David Ackerley and used to play something like this with Michael Ware. I am not sure if they got this from somewhere else.
LEMMING is really a modification of anti-Lemming that Alan Truscott wrote about in the Bridge World.

Hi everyone
You can get additional information by reading the 10 pages of their convention card.
1D*-1H=0-9 negative
1D*-1S=7-13 invitational
1D*-1NT=GF
Their 1NT opening 12-15HCP covers all other balanced hand types. What they open with 5M332 I did not discover.
Regards,
Robert

On the front of their card in the last line of the system summary it says:
"1NT opening 12-15 balanced or 2245 shapes no 5-card Major"
