On hand #1, I find the 4♦ bid to be extremely strange. Without prior agreement, I would interpret it as preemptive with diamonds.

I always play 1 of a minor - 3 of a minor as preemptive, so I don't see why 4 wouldn't be preemptive.

There are plently of other ways to show the majors - double, Michaels cue bid, bid both suits. Why should 4♦ be for the majors?

1. 4♦ is some kind of super michaels? I think this is the type of hand I can take the push on. If pard has some sort of super 5=6=1=1, it wouldn't surprise me to make 5♠, and be able to set 5♦ only 1.

2. I don't know what I'd do with the North hand. It probably changes day to day. I guess I'd end up in 6C and not be happy with the result.

3. Play Problem - Its going to be difficult to keep RHO off lead. I'll probably duck the 1st two clubs and play A-Q diamonds hoping for 2s's, 2h's 4d's and 1c losing 2C's, 1h and 1d along the way.
