Strong Jump Shifts are less common these days but if you're playing them then 2♠ 1st round is good.

Now I'd just blast Blackwood or bid 4♣ (if that's nat+strong)

I like to play strong jump shifts but even so I don't think I would make one here. At the point where all I have heard is partner bidding 1H I need some more input first. I would bid 1S as you did, planning on bidding 3C (if that is strong) over a possible 1NT response. But after 1H-1S-2H I think I would just go with Dodgy's suggestion of 4NT, hopefully rkc. If partner shows three keys I have a decision to make. There is no convention to tell you haw the spades are splitting. I suppose that I might give the grand a shot. Bu really, if partner is missing the J of hearts you could, if unlucky, lose a trump trick. Anyway, 6H or 7H. (Added: After some thought, I will settle for 6H. Somehow I was thinking that there were six spades in the hand.) If 4NT is only Blkwd not rkc then I will settle for 6H after hearing of the two aces.

I disagree.. unless you are playing a truly ancient style.

I know of no modern expert, in std methods, who would advocate a jumphift here. The problems are 1) the spade suit is too weak and 2) the hand may play far better in clubs. Modern strong jumps are generally either one-suited (with a strong suit) or two suited, with a fit for partner as the second suit, or big notrump types. I♠ is normal and you could then bid 3♣ over 2♥, which is ostensibly natural and always forcing.

However, with a hand this strong, and if at all worried about my partnership's ability to bid subtlely, I'd just keycard (or blackwood) over 2♥... after all, he has shown 6 of them and we have 1st or 2nd round control of all the side suits.

After learning of the spade A and the heart AK, I'd bid 7♥. It has to have play.. although if he has a hand such as Axx AKJxxx xx xx, we may be in trouble after a diamond lead.

Agree with Justin and Mike. This hand isn't even close to a strong jumpshift, 1♠ is obvious.

After partner rebid 2♥, showing 6 of them, I'll just keycard and bid the grand here.
