1:2
2:4 (presume 3 would have been NF)
5

What does it ask for and why?

In a normal auction, the bid of 5-trump asks for one of 2 things: Control in the unbid or opps suit, or trump quality if an unbid suit does not exist

Since 3 suits have been bid, this bid asks for control in the diam.

Replies are:
pass = no control
6D = ace or void
5N = Kx
5S/6C = ace + king of suit bid
6M = singleton
It costs nothing to be nice -- my better half

I would take it as lack of control, mainly because you can use 4NT to get trump honnors.

I think it depends whether your Key Card can handle a void. If yes then 5H can't be asking about hearts. If not, then I guess five hearts is asking about hearts.

first i think this ask to play 2/1, so you dont have this problems ;)

but in current position, lets investigate more:

if i need cuebid, i would bid 5, waiting for 5 to bid 6.

if i need control, how i would bid? 5? possible

if i need control, how i would bid???? probabily i would make inference my partner have after 2 bid, so i pass this question

if i need honours and if i have a void in (so my rkc is not good) i think i would bid 5...so this should be the meaning...

Standard: voluntary 5M asks for:

1. control of the opponents' suit
2. else, control of the sole unbid suit
3. else, two of the top three trump honors

I don't think the "responses" to this are universal, but it does make sense to cuebid if you have the ace or void and the partnership could still have grand values.
