It's hard to understand what "those cards" east's double shows can be. If he's got them, either opener or partner is very light.....

We might make slam, but I can't see a reasonable way to bid it scientifically. I don't think it's wise to redouble to show strenght so I'll just blast 5♣ before opps find their major suit fit. If I'm left to play this, I guess I can claim after the lead.

I bet that my pd is from germany and played 2 NT to show both majors. (An old and bad convention but still played by some)

But I still bid 5 Club, if this is wrong, I will at least earn some drinks and excuses from pd.

my table was 5♣ also, just wondering how someone can get to 6 ;)
