I would definitely bid 1S, bidding 2H is asking to get too high. If we bid 1S we get our suit in that may be the right strain, when we later preference we sound like we have only 2 card support so partner is slowed down, etc etc.
Over the game try why would I ever consider bidding game? I would try bidding 2H again.

Pard actually held: ♠x ♥AKJTx, ♦JTx ♣KQJx. I think this is a very prototypical hand for a HSGT. I retreated to 3♥, but had a queasy feeling I might have enough for game.
The hand was friendly;
1. high ♠ lead
2. trump shift, won in hand with J
3. ♦ruff
4. ♠ruff
5. ♦ruff
6. knock out ♣A
giving up the high ♠, 3rd ♦ and the ♣A
+170 vul
Next time they'll lead a trump.

OK, I have enough responses. I tried 2♥.
Pard not unexpectedly makes a game try with 3♦ (help suit).
Has this hand blossomed into a 4♥ call?

no, I'll signoff at 3-level
