The NRDC reported that a five-year supply of bottled water cost over $1,000 compared with $1.65 for the same amount of tap water. Not to mention the environmental impact of the many discarded plastic water bottles that are not recycled.

If you feel the convenience is worth the cost, by all means choose bottled water; but don't feel compelled to drink a lot of it to maintain good health.

For those not buying bottled water in the first place like me, how do you suggest I save money?

Maybe I should sell my tap water in bottles :)

And from what I've heard, bottled water is really no better than most tap water. It's just one of the most successful marketing campaigns in history.

At least this is true in the US, where health standards for municipal water supplies have been very high for decades. Tap water is filtered and chlorinated before being sent to homes.
