Scoring: MP

p-1-2NT*-?

*:54+ in clubs and any M

Almost pickup, but v. skilled p - he should understand what we mean. Non-discussed situation.

I'll double. We have values and noone may have a suit. If it continues 3 - p - p, I'll have to contribute 3. Since 3 immediately would be GF with a reasonable suit, partner will know that my suit can be a bit lousy...

I thought 3 direct is merely competetive and 3 shows inv+ with Hearts. Well maybe this is not common sense. But I still bid it and 3 after 3 from pd.

Double.

The only problem will be when it goes 3, pass, pass. I'd try 3.

I would start with X.

It gets interesting if it then goes (3) - p - (p) - ?
Several people intend to bid 3 now. I'm not sure if it should be forcing, or if partner can be sure of 4 spades in my hand. What can I bid with Q10x A98xx 9xx Ax ?
I think I would bid 4 now. It's a bit optimistic, but clearer, in my opinion.

3C showing long H forcing, as opposed to a 3H competitive bid. This also stops lho from spoofing. I don't want to make a decision over 3C when pd may not take a bid as forcing.

Double - shows desire to double at least one of the potential contracts. Automatic,
