Playing a team match you hold:
Scoring: IMP

The bidding goes:

pass - Dbl - pass - ???

Mark me down for 3.

There are hands where I'd bid 2 with a 3 card suit, but this isn't one of them. The fact that you list 2N leads me to believe that partner has a 4=1=3=5 hand or some such. Maybe a 3=2=3=5. However, I think that 2N has more way's to lose than win.

Pass has some appeal at MPs, but I'm not inflicting this on my team mates...

I bid a confident 3 and nothing else is even remotely close. I hope to not be doubled and set 300.

Anyhow, 2 with this 3 card junk is out of the question since PD has two opportunites to bid allready and didn't. 2NT is not my preference with a good 4 card suit and 3 card suit headed by the 8.

If I pass, I wonder if they make an overtrick. I wouldn't pass at MP's even if they were Red.

I wonder what "other" was. Why can't everyone who choose "Other" in any poll specify their choice?

(I chose 3, saw no reason to deviate-I won't bid my pd's hand. at least, not now :( )
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

3, happily.

3D - the least of evils and the bid least likely to get hammered due to the good diamonds (hopefully)

3 as well, with 2NT as remotely next. 2? not a choice for this this hand.

3D. Scrambling 2N doesn't help, since Ill never know if pard has 4C or 5C. 2S isn't a consideration: I expect pard to balance with 5 bad ones or 4 good ones. Don't ever expect 5 good spades, pard wouldve overcalled initially. As a matter of fact, pards hand is kind of an enigma, because the opps probably don't have 23-24, and pard has short hearts, so it needs to be something like a 3244 9 count. I'm guessing Ill either play 3D x'd or defend 3H so pard will also get off to a good lead (and not skewer my KTx with A trump lead).

3D,

2S is ok, and I would not blame partner,
if he did choose it, but 3D looks normal.

With kind regards

Partner requested that I bid my best suit. So I will.

With 4 good spades partner might have balanced with 2S rather than double
