I would like to be able to import a Duplimate file .dlm to a .lin file (movie)
Is this possible or planned?
In Dealmaster (producer of dlm files) I can generate hands with different specs for each player. Suppose I want to test our defence to the Multi
I can get W (say) to have Multi 2D hands and N & S various hands
I don't think one can do that with BBO(An excellent product)
I would like to be able to import a dlm file - convert to a lin file and then use the resulting movie within partnership bidding.
Ideally the W & E hand would not be shown (but W & E bids could be made by the table boss) then we could practice our defence to the MUlti ( or other bids) and then check up at the end of the auction on how we did.
Is any of this possible now? Are there any future plans?
Note a possible way to acheive this entirely within BridgeBase would be that during partnersship bidding, one could set constraints for W and / or E
Many thanks any replies
best regards

Inporting Duplimate Files DLM files to LIN Files?

My understanding is that duplimate hands can be read by netbridgevu (the bbo program) in its native format (just like PBN can be). I have never tried this myself.
This suggest you can just load the hands or from the logon dialogue choose open movie, point to your duplimate hands and open it . that program should then create a lin file with the same name.
Should that not work, there are online program that will covert from duplimate file format to other formats like PBN and LIN, you could you those. The one that I like is Richard Pavlicek's File Converter utility ( i have never used duplimate formats however), another is on Kaj G Backas webpages.
Finally if your dealmaster is anything like dealmasterpro, you can save the output in PBN file format which is clearly usable by BBOs software.

BBO can open .dup files, but not .dlm files.
As I understand it, these files are closely related. Maybe your software has the option to output in .dup format.
You can use the "open bridge movie on your computer" button that appears BEFORE you log in to open these files. You will find it is easier to do this if you have one of the more recent beta versions. Here is a link you can use to download the most recent (as of the morning of November 3) beta:
