A question for anyone who plays this - or even if you don't if you have some suggestions.

We are thinking of switching the 1S and 1N responses to 1H, so

1H 1S = forcing NT, (may have 4S) now...
1N = C, or some 5332
2C = D
2D = 6 cards H
2H = Flannery
2S = normal reverse, 17+

This looks fine, but....

1H 1N = 5+S now...
what do you bid with 2533? 2C I guess.

Has/does anyone play this? Any suggestions as to advs disadvs?

Thanks in advance, Ron

During the brief interval that Kaplan Inversion was GCC legal in the ACBL, I experimented with it and it seemed quite effective with few problems. Normally the rebid structure I used was:

1NT=4 spades, can't reverse
2CL/2DI=Natural (but could be 3 cards)
2HE= 6+ hearts
2SP=4 spades with reversing values.

Your transfer structure looks rather better.

Over 1NT, opener rebids 2C with 2-5-3-3.

If your 1DI is natural, you might consider a similar treatement where 1H is artifical and may have a four-card major, while 1SP(=hearts) and 1NT(=spades) promise five.

Hi Ron!
I play same thing, it is best! Only problem is with 5 good-6SP and unbalanced hand, too many time need to repeat SP suit and not enough space to bid side suits. Way I solve it in my system is 2DI transfer for 5+SP, good if only 5 and unbalanced hand. However I play different scheme of continuations and use 2CL rebid of opener as only relay, 14+HCP.
