I have a very hard time seeing on the computer. The colors on this forum make it almost impossible for me to find and read the posts. Is there a way for me to change the colors on my computer?

Hi JoAnne
I don't think this forum support different colors.
The good thing is that SkrShawk is working (or thinking ;D)on a new "forum" model.
You can read about it here:
http://forums.bridgebase.com/in...y;threadid=1099
or you can take a direct look here:
http://www.bridgebas...rpages.com/ipb/
It is just a beta ver. It will not be updated. If you find it better, give your thoughts to SkrShawk under the thread.
Have a nice day

You customize your browser settings here:
Tools - Internet options - General - Accessibility

Hi,
Claus gave you the solution. If you go to internet options, accessibility, you can choose to:
1) Ignore font size specified on web page
2) Ignore colors specified on web page
3) Ignore Fonts specified on web pages
This is very helpful for this website, as the default font size is unreadable on my laptop. Thus, I always ignore the font size. It turns out you can ignore the colors as well, giving you a white background with black text. Some fonts may be hard to read (depending upon their color), so you can add ignore fonts too.
Once you ignore font size, you can use IE's VIEW menu to increase or decrease the text size (this doesn't work if you don't ignore the font size under accessibility)
You can then turn all this stuff back on when you leave the BBO so other pages look normal.

This thread gave me inspiration simply to download another browser intended as second for watching BBO Forum with alternative settings.
I have downloaded Netscape for that. Right now I cannot see how to change color settings but another problem which some time ago was up regarding Forum has been solved instead. You can simply scale web-sites, even BBO Forum. 75% - 90% - 100% - 150% - 200% etc.
There are other browsers available too here:

Very funny to look Forum in this more flexible way - try it!

Very funny - in Netscape browser I have access to the source code for BBO Forum.
I have no knowledge of HTML but it looks to me that the color problem is not so complicated to change for John but that it is impossible to change for personal settings.
textarea
{
font-size: 9pt;
color: #FFFFFF;
font-family: verdana,arial, helvetica, serif;
background-color: #444444;
}
.bordercolor
{
font-size: 12px;
font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, serif;
background-color: #888888;
}
Looks like simply to switch the background colors. I assume #444444 =black and #888888 = white.

For Netscape browser you change colors in this way:
- Edit
- Preferences
- Appearance - maybe you need to doubleclick first time
- Colors
- Switch to: "Use my chosen colors, ignoring the colors and background image specified"
- OK
Now you simply use Netscape as second browser for watching BBO Forum only - then white background and black text and text font scale-able.
Your problems are over

Hi everyone,
It is very easy to turn off the colors using the accessibility menu. Also, I have looked at the new beta screen for the Forum and the colors are wonderful. I can easily see everything and the light blue is very restful for the eyes. Good Job!!!

Yes, the beta forum color scheme is much, much better. I hope your post means you are going to stick with IE and just turn off web specified colors using the very easy to access assessibility controls... That is what I do, seems silly to download netscape and use it for that single purpose (of course, if you already have netscape, then that would be fine...but still seems unnecssary to run two browsers).

I did download Netscape, but only because I have this giant hard drive that is only about 20% filled. I probably will never use it and will stick to the "colors be gone" button until the new color scheme is implemented.
Thanks for all your help.
