I was South on this hand :
Scoring: IMP

North East South West
P        P     1       X
1NT    2   3       P
P        3   P         P
4      PO

Thoughts during the table :
3 : looks very natural, partner figures to have some decent support
Pass over 3 : I think I've shown my hand
Pass over 4 : Well, partner might just be balancing

After a strange 6 lead, I ended with all 13 tricks... well obviously slam is ridiculous, but should we have reach 5?

Firstly some of my after-thoughts :
1)No 2 preempt, which is kinda weird(maybe they play multi)
2)Partner concealed his nice, 4 carded
3)A very disgusting T/O X by West :)

Am I right to say that game wasn't reached due to the combination of these factors?

*P.S : It's so difficult to create the whole bidding sequence as I have to keep modifying the number of spaces by adding (alt +)... am I doing it wrongly?

I would not be concerned at missing this game, especially at this vulnerability.

Even vulnerable I'm not going to be upset at missing it even when dummy hits.

with a normal diam lead, you have to play spades right for 1 loser, find the K onside and drop the K offsides to make 5. No way to bid this and even suggesting you do is very "resulting."

And the only way to make 7 is West not cover the Q or pitch a heart.

As North, I would respond 1. Other than that, the bidding looks fine.

West's dbl is terrible allowing you to guess to drop the K. If you did get to 5 on this hand, then that dbl would cost them a game swing when the bidding would begin p p 1C p 1H 2D... 5C with a diam lead. Losing a spade, diam and club.
It costs nothing to be nice -- my better half

I dislike the t/O double and congratulate you to stay in the best contract... game is unlikely.
I think pds 1 NT was perfect: After the double, a Heart fit is unlikey and he shows his hand type and strength in one bid.

The rest of the bidding was fine too.
Kind Regards

Well I agree that bidding 5 on just N/S hands alone is bad, but my team mates suggested that we probably should get there due to the T/O X.

Hmm... looks like he isn't gonna convince me after all

HK on left side 50%
SK on left side 50%
C 1-1 52%

low percents to Game

3c ~4c is a normal result
