I have been playing on other internet sites and found there that, when a convention card is posted, an explanation box appears near any bid, even if the bid is not alerted. The explanation was not always accurate but the errors of the software were very easy to recognise.
This would be a great help for example with "Polish Club" and "Precision" and many other system that I do not know. And the job of directors would be easier.
Maybe uday one of these days will think to this.

I used to play at Zone.com, and there the explanation came on the screen. It was a lot easier to fill in the CC, because it's all textfields.

BUT surely a link to ACBL CC site could be arranged ----- THERE you can fill out ACBL card with whatever u want :
BBO CC's do NOT allow you to fill in EXACT point ranged for some bids :-[

In terms of the CC, I like it - so much better than most. Just need a little more buffering room for me to type in the goodies instead of my generic statement "HCPs are merely a guideline, players have latitude to devaite from published norms as play/bid warrants"....

to set a good example and get others to do the same. The
BBO convention card window has its faults, even for "standard"
systems but it is better than nothing. I am probably one of the
few that has problems with it...maybe that is because I use it
more than others or because I play weird system or have lots
of agreements that won't fit in the space provided. Maybe, in
the future there can be two modes...a basic mode (resembling
what we have now) and an advanced mode that enables a
more thorough description of the system.

I normally play with CC posted and pre-alert opps about. Its true BBO convention card dont have something like additional sheet to describe agreed sequences. Also in training room "Partnership bidding" no opponents intervention available to customise. I please many time both Uday and Fred, but without sucsess :'(. From all I read about Fred and his posts in BBO forum, he dont like "science" systems and will not do anything about these problems, so only way to menage them is to make your own european BBO, hope will be free too .

I don't think Fred's personal feelings about complex systems has anything to do with not updating the CC software. I think it is purely a matter of he and Uday needing to budget their time and set priorities on what improvements they make to BBO. It seems to me they have put a huge amount of work into Tournaments. They have also had to make programming changes to get the server to handle the much larger number of members online (especially during the live broadcasts).
I suspect the latter item (the much larger number of members online at any one time), will be consuming much of their time over the next while. I'm sure they don't want BBO breaking down or becoming unstable just as it is reaching new levels of success.
