Not on the obvious diamond lead, no.
On the CQ lead and some pretty serious mis-defence later, possibly. This looks more like a "can you construct a defence to let you make" rather than "can it be made genuinely".

By the way, what is East's 3NT bid? Or are EW a 'modern' pair who don't believe in inviting?

J diamonds led

Pard was expert in a skyclub indy and he bid 3NT whcih as we were vuln I assumed he knew what he was doing

I posted this because I made it and it took me ages I had to stop and seriously think about it mid way and I chose the (what I thought was my only chance to make it.

I just wanted to know how hard it is to make, cos it hurt the little brain cells I had and whether I was just lucky or I took the best line to make it was discarding the J spades that I think gave me the contract on hand 8

here is my play on line 40

Sorry to say it is unmakeable on a lead. It was very poor defense.

Once North wins the first heart AND switches to a spade (when a diamond looks clearcut), you are home and dry! Well done for not dropping the ball they'd given you.

I don't understand the J comment - you just have to avoid keeping a losing club instead of a heart winner.

When North won the first heart with the king, he cost his side a heart trick.
When he didn't play a third diamond having won the king of hearts, he lost the chance to set up a long diamond trick for his side.
