The conv. card software takes a long time to complete. In many ways it has tons of options to fill out, but just writing in descriptions has rather limited fields. Perhaps these could be expanded to handle more characters?

Convention Card software

As has noted in other topics, the CC software is quite restrictive currently and this is impacting its adoption.
However two improvements would be a big help: firstly, longer fields as Gary suggests; secondly, a "notes" tab for free form additional information.
I'd like to include "standard" defences to our non-standard openers and conventions. I thought the Internet World Scrabble championships had it right a couple of years ago, when it said that pairs must provide details of their system plus defences to any ACBL non-GCC conventions. Although you can debate which standard to use as a reference (e.g., ACBL GCC, UK "Level 3", others but the GCC is probably the lowest common denominator), having an accessible standard is all that is needed.
Of course, we'd all like to see automated alerts from our CCs .... which I believe would definitely increase the use of convention cards.
