Scoring: IMP

1NT(1) - (P) - 2(2) - (X)(3)
P(4) - (P) - ?

(1)13-15 balanced
(2)Stayman
(3)Lead directing
(4)HHxx or Hxxxx in clubs, no 4 card major, suggestion to play

You are playing with your regular partner so you are on firm ground as to the meaning of partner's calls. Your relevant* choices are:

Pass - So endeth the auction
XX - To Play in 2XX
2 - Scrambling
2NT - Invite
3NT - To Play

*This may be debated for some of the calls above, but trust me that there are more that are irrelevant for sure.

1160. Although that wasn't our score.

I would redouble for sure, it would be very unlucky if they had a cheap safe haven.

I'll rewind, even if it is a violation of Burn's law.

We have 27-29 HCPs, so in 3 NT we make around 630.
2 Club XX will give me more. Ok, I never made a XX contract till now, but this may be the first.
Kind Regards

If I can redble and play there, I will take my chances.

I redouble, but I would hope that partner delivers a good texture too. I wouldn't expect a suggestion to play with KJ75, or K8543. It should show a hand that doesn't expect LHO sitting in front of partner to take many trump tricks.

I would redouble. Last time I had an auction like this we scored 1160: at the other taable, after a similar start, our teammates ran and went 1100. Routine win 2.

Here was the full deal:

Scoring: IMP

1NT - P - 2 - X
P - P - XX - P
P - 2 - X - All Pass

I was actually North on this hand. Partner chose to rewind and East made the mistake of running. 2 is actually touch and go, but in 2X, we held them to 2 tricks for 1700. The auction started differently at the other table and our teammates defended 3. So it turned out to be 170 at one table and 1700 at the other. Not quite a push.

Totally obvious redouble with all those top tricks. This is not even a close decision. I think par is about 9 tricks for us, and if anything I'm being conservative.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
